- Chef (maternity position April 2019 - July 2020): Our amazing chef Laurie is having a baby this summer & we have to try and fill her incredibly capable shoes for a bit over a year. We are looking for a highly skilled and self directed cook with a passion for producing consistently beautiful food with good local ingredients. This position involves the bulk of food preparation for the cafe such as creating soups, chilis, sauces, and menu staples weekly along with some baking. A minimum of 5 years experience working in a restaurant kitchen and/or culinary training or certification is preferred. Opportunity to stay after the maternity contract ends is possible!
- Kitchen staff: Prep cooks and line cooks wanted! Help us serve our community beautiful local food at affordable prices in our cozy homelike cafe. Expect to serve hundreds of people a day during the summer and maintain quality, care, and attention to detail on every plate. Experience cooking breakfast, brunch, and lunch items to order in a fast paced kitchen required. Kitchen staff pitch in on dishes and food prep as needed but the primary focus is preparing visitor orders in a timely and consistent way. Be part of a supportive team and community.
- Front of house: We are looking for people who genuinely care about people and creating a welcoming, friendly, home-like space for our visitors. We are a busy cafe and this is a fast paced job that involves lots of standing & moving! Front of house pitches in with dishes, takes & delivers orders, makes drinks, serves baked goods and generally does a little bit of everything so flexibility, enthusiasm, and a good memory is key. Barista experience with a manual espresso machine is lovely but we can train the right person! I
- Dishwasher: This is one of the most important jobs in the kitchen and we respect it! Looking for a detail oriented, energetic dishwasher that can keep up with busy days in a hot summer kitchen. Hours typically 4 days a week, 11am-5pm.
